2. Our Role: When Printeast Is a Controller and When It Is a Processor

Printeast operates a global, multi-sided print-on-demand and design platform. Controller / Business Printeast acts as a controller or business when we determine the purposes and means of processing personal data for our own business operations, including operating our website, apps, accounts, dashboards, hosted stores, and marketplace features; managing seller, creator, buyer, supplier, and business accounts; billing, settlements, fraud prevention, support, platform analytics, platform security, and legal compliance; operating and improving our AI and design-related tools; sending service communications and marketing where permitted; and recruiting and managing workforce-related data. Processor / Service Provider / Contractor Printeast may act as a processor, service provider, or contractor when we process personal data on behalf of a seller, merchant, creator, brand, or other business customer solely to provide services under their instructions, such as receiving order data from connected stores or integrations; processing product and print instructions; manufacturing, printing, packaging, and shipping products; coordinating tracking, returns, and delivery support; and providing customer support related to fulfillment. If you purchase from or interact with a seller, creator, or merchant using Printeast, that party may also be a separate controller of your personal data, and their own privacy policy may also apply. Even where Printeast acts as a processor or service provider for order fulfillment, we may act as an independent controller for limited purposes such as security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, accounting, audit, sanctions screening, legal compliance, and the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
